Check out the new intro video for Power Swing Bands. It has a bunch of good footage of Power Swing Bands in action and was shot in Wilmington, NC over new years weekend. What better way to kick off the new year than with Power Swing Bands?

Why Most Players Never Improve

Monday, January 17th, 2011

Golf is an interesting game. It’s one of the few (if not the only) sports where the average person is physically capible of being a world-class player. And I know some people will disagree with that statement, especially considering the long list of tour players that hit the gym as if they are training for an Iron Man Triathlon. However, and no offense to all the round-bellied tour players out there, but there is still a bunch of guys competing at a very high level that look more like Homer Simpson than Adam Scott (i.e., Carl Pettersson from the Hyundai Tournament of Champions).

Carl vs. Homer

Now all kidding aside, this is a good thing for most people. It means that you don’t have to be built like Tiger Woods or spend hours in the gym to drastically improve your game.

So why do most players never improve? Because they practice the wrong thing.

You can spend as much time on the driving range as you would like, but if you are practicing a swing that is broken, then you are only going to get as good as your broken swing lets you. This doesn’t mean your swing has to look like Ben Hogan’s or Anthony Kim’s (Jim Furyk did win the FedEx Cup), but it does have to be efficient if you want to ever come close to reaching your full golf potential.

So practice the right thing. Don’t go to the driving range and beat balls mindlessly. Improve your fundamentals and you will improve your score. And by the way, Power Swing Bands makes improving your fundamentals simple and easy. Plus, it costs less than a golf lesson and it also strengthens your core muscles while practicing with it (so you can avoid looking like Homer while you are at it).

And of course, don’t forget to show your putter some love.
